If you prefer to sightsee in Palm Springs from a bicycle, you’re in luck. There are many companies and organizations offering bicycle rides and tours in and around the city. Go Bike USA offers weekly and monthly cycling tours, at no charge, for recreationists, not racers.
Their weekly Sunday Morning group rides are free. Bring your own bike. They can recommend rentals.
LOCATION: Meet at NW corner of Sunrise and Ramon Road in Palm Springs (near Carl’s Jr. in the Ralph’s market center).
TIME: Meet at 8 am, ride at 8:30am
DISTANCE: 2-3 hour ride.
ABILITY: Beginner to moderate. This is a “No Drop” ride. If someone flats, everyone stops.
DOs and DON’TS: No time-trial bars. Don’t forget: a friend, a helmet, water, spare tube, energy bar, and bicycling stories.
They also offer a night ride, the last Friday of each month. The Desert Stahlight Ridazz is free and begins at 7:30pm. For complete details call 760-774-3583 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
