From Port Lawrence Condo Development To Become A Parking Lot

It’s official, the long-awaited and highly publicized downtown Palm Springs Port Lawrence modern condo development is becoming a parking lot, instead.

The city announce recently that they’ve taken over the 4-acre site, on the corner of Alejo and North Palm Canyon, and are turning it into a free parking lot, at a cost of $150,000. The lot is expected to be completed in October of 2009.

While Port Lawrence never got off the ground, due to a lack of financing, other new downtown developments like OCEO and Palomino have stalled and are currently selling their remaining, existing inventory at bargain prices. The developmer’s losses are truly the buyers’ gains.
