For Valentine’s Day, hundreds of bicycle riders rode 5, 10, 25, 50 or 100 miles to benefits charities related to the Coachella Valley. I shot the video above at the start of the 10 mile ride.
The 17th Annual Tour de Palm Springs took place on Valentine’s Day and started in downtown Palm Springs on North Palm Canyon Drive at Alejo Road.
If you love to play golf or tennis or like to ride bikes, run, hike or walk, you’ll find numerous events in Palm Springs, held throughout the year, to enjoy your favorite sport or activity and raise money for charities at the same time.
The Palm Springs Life Market Watch 2015, indicates that Palm Springs, California is only second to Indio in new homes under construction and for sale in the Coachella Valley desert area.
Boasting 14 active new home projects and 10 projects planned for 2015, Palm Springs has 1,024 lots currently in development. The Market Watch estimates that 176 new homes or condos will be sold in the city of Palm Springs in 2015.
I just sold a new home to a couple in Escena Palm Springs and was able to negotiate and save them $5,000 off the builder’s asking price.
Contact me today to see any new homes or condos for sale in Palm Springs. There is never a fee to buyers to use a buyer’s agent, like me, to help you find a new home. Commissions are paid by the seller.
If you go to a new home development on your own, you have no one representing you or looking out for your best interests. The builder’s sales reps are there to get the best deal possible for the builder, not for you.
So, call me today, at the number above and I will be happy to represent you and negotiate the best deal for you, if you decide to purchase a new home.

From the time I was born, until now, I’ve spent nearly every Christmas in Palm Springs, California. I can appreciate a white, snowy Christmas on a postcard, in a song or a movie, but in real life, I prefer shorts and flip flops to thermal underwear and snow boots.
The picture of the three Christmas trees in the Palm Springs Village Square, above, was taken this year on the night of the annual Palm Springs Festival of Lights Parade. The parade runs through downtown Palm Springs, along Palm Canyon Drive and this year the weather was balmy and beautiful. Just like nearly every other Christmas in the desert.
If you’re ready to start a new holiday tradition, by spending it in Palm Springs, call me today and I’ll be happy to help you find the perfect holiday getaway home or full-time residence.
My Mountain Gate, Palm Springs neighbor recently signed up for the Desert Water Agency’s Turf Buy Back program that was launched August 1, 2014. I spotted this sign in her yard and thought I would share it with others who might not be aware of the city’s water conservation program.
The program requires property owners to fill out an application and successfully complete a pre-conversion site inspection with DWA. Residents are eligible for a $2 per square foot rebate of up to $3,000 for the removal of their lawns.
In addition, once you have converted your yard to desert landscaping (xeriscaping), you will likely see a dramatic decrease in your monthly water bill. We removed our grass many years ago and even though we have a private pool and spa, our monthly water bills average $25 a month. It’s not unusual for our friends, with grass lawns, to pay five to 10 times that much per month for water!
It took me an hour and a half to walk the 3.7 mile Tram Road from the visitor center on Palm Canyon to the Tramway valley station this morning. Round trip from my doorstep in Mountain Gate (across the street) was eight miles and took three hours.
This video was taken about half way up the road, around 7:30 am this morning. I’m getting ready for this year’s Tram Road Challenge 6K Run/Walk in Palm Springs, California, being held next week on Saturday October 25, 2014. The Challenge is a fund raiser for The United Way of the Desert and Make a Difference Day.
If you don’t have other plans and enjoy steep, strenuous walks, come and join me next Saturday.
Elvis Presley’s former Palm Springs home is currently bank owned and goes on the auction block Saturday, October 25th at noon.
The 4 bedroom, 7 bathroom celebrity hillside estate is located at 845 W. Chino Canyon Road in the Little Tuscany Estates neighborhood of Palm Springs. The auction will be held on-site.
Built in 1946, the 5,000+ square foot historic compound sits on 1.75 acres of land, offers a swimming pool and sweeping mountain and city views. Elvis owned the home until his death in 1977. It is only one of two known homes to have been owned by the King of Rock and Roll.
If you are out of area and need a Realtor to represent you at the auction, please contact me today.
I took this photo on my walk this morning. I live in Mountain Gate, which is across the street, and about a 10 minute walk to the Palm Springs Visitor Center. From the center, I walked about half way up the Tram Road, to keep in shape for this year’s Tram Road Challenge. Round trip from my doorstep took exactly 60 minutes.
The 29th Annual Palm Springs Tram Road Challenge is a 6K uphill run/walk presented by the Palm Springs Aerial Tram and Make a Difference Day.
For over 25 years, runners and walkers from around the world have been taking on the challenge. Participants climb 2000 vertical feet in just over 3.7 miles. This event benefits the United Way of the Desert.
The run/walk starts at the Visitor Center parking lot and ends at the Tramway valley station. Hope to see you there.
